Dartfrog is pleased to announce the introduction of EpiWeb® to the UK - a brand new advanced growth substrate for the 21st century, this product can be used both in the vivarium or in horticulture. Developed by Swedish company Dusk Tropic to address both the decline of and demand for the fibrous substrate product of the tree fern (Dicksonia) known as xaxim. For over 200 years, xaxim has been considered the best substrate in the cultivation of orchids. The lengthy biodegradation time, water & air retention properties have long been considered to be its great advantages.
® possesses the same qualities as Dicksonia but with additional advantages which other substrates touted as the 'perfect substitutes' are lacking. Made of 70% recycled plastics and being 100% toxic-free, EpiWeb® will never decompose and can be sterilized and re-used multiple times. It is available in a range of formats from panels to loose substrate and pots. Below are the range of EpiWeb® products that we are offering. Also the EpiWeb we stock is now UV-resistant.
